Year Two: Imagining What Could Be

Participants in the Year Two cohort are coming to the residency with more experience, and often also more questions. During the content sessions, they will process some of their experiences from their first full year of Presbytery leadership and begin wondering where the Spirit might be leading the body they've been called to serve.

MONDAY Building capacity for hope while creating space for grief, loss, anger, and anxiety for both the leader and the Presbytery

TUESDAY What drives our imagination individually and corporately? What are some different ways of thinking about and describing the Presbytery?

WEDNEDAY Leading imaginative change can require an imaginative leadership style. Explore the use of metaphor while experiencing the application of a particular metaphor to the life and ministry of the Presbytery.

THURSDAY How can you spark the collective imagination of a Presbytery to help shift cultures in meaningful and sustainable ways?

The most useful takeaway is a great shift of perspective that is, overall, literally encouraging. I
am reminded that everyone is navigating exhausting but interesting waters. I am reminded that
I am not alone in this exercise…. I am reminded that enormously creative and fresh things come
out of times like this and I CAN be the holder of this truth even when others are not yet feeling
it. … This week may have been a milestone in my journey and leadership that shifts my
trajectory in a significantly fresh direction marked by hope and faith. Secret sauce ingredients
for me are worship, the leadership and their excellent and relevant content, time with others on
the same journey.
